About Augenprothetik Lauscha GmbH
Augenprothetik Lauscha GmbH is the oldest institute for the manufacture and fitting of eye prostheses in Germany. The company goes back to Ludwig Müller-Uri, the inventor of the German artificial eye, and has been producing glass eye prostheses in Lauscha (Thuringia) in the craft tradition since 1835. Only special glasses manufactured in Germany are used, including cryolite glass, so-called Beinglas and numerous colored special glasses. The entire manufacture and fitting of the prostheses is in the hands of the company's own employees in Germany. In addition to production, the institute offers regular consultation days in Germany and abroad to supply patients directly on site. The more than 180-year tradition guarantees security of supply for the medical device glass eye prosthesis, independent of international supply chains.
