About austenit
austenit GmbH is a stainless steel service center headquartered in Düsseldorf with a production site in Hilden. Since 1982, the company has supplied the stainless steel processing industry with single-layer wound slit strip made of stainless steel, which is slit to customer specification in its own plant. The dimension range covers strip thicknesses from 0.30 to 4.00 mm and widths from 6.00 to 1,000 mm. On a straightening line, austenit also produces bars from diverted slit strip in thicknesses from 0.5 to 4.0 mm, widths from 8.0 to 110 mm and lengths up to max. 10,000 mm – with tighter width tolerances and more flexible lengths than bars made from sheet. The product range includes grades such as 1.4016, 1.4509, 1.4301, 1.4307, 1.4541 and 1.4404 in various surface finishes; further grades are available on request. Services include edge reworking, surface protection and warehousing of an extensive range of raw material for small and very large demand quantities.
