About austerlitz electronic

Founded in 1949, austerlitz electronic gmbh is an owner-managed company based in Nuremberg. The company manufactures heat sinks and cooling profiles from aluminium as well as complete cooling systems including liquid cooling for power electronics. A second pillar is the production of busbars in single- and multi-layer designs from copper or aluminium sheet up to 6 mm thickness, including stamping, CNC bending, surface finishing, insulation, assembly as well as soldering and welding. Cooling element production takes place at its own plant in Henfenfeld with CNC-controlled production machines and an in-house large anodizing line; since 1991, a branch plant in Hoyerswerda has complemented production. Customers include the renewable energy, drive technology, power supply, telecommunications and e-mobility sectors.

History

  1. 1949

Founded by graduate engineer Alfred Austerlitz; distribution of electroacoustic components (including Sennheiser) in Münchberg.

  2. 1950er

Relocation of headquarters to Nuremberg; distribution of connectors, cables, resistors and loudspeakers; start of own manufacturing (connecting cables, telephone adapters).

  3. 1960er

Emergence of the transistor: start of cooling element manufacturing (semiconductor cooling).

  4. Construction of the cooling element plant in Henfenfeld with CNC-controlled production machines and its own large anodizing line.

  5. 1991

Expansion of production with a branch plant in Hoyerswerda; cooling systems become the most important business segment.

  6. 1993

Complemented by an antenna wholesale business with Hirschmann products for the electrical trade.

  7. 1994

Death of company founder Alfred Austerlitz; the company remains family-owned.
