About Austrian Audio

Austrian Audio is a company for professional audio technology founded in Vienna in 2017. The company develops and manufactures large-diaphragm and small-diaphragm condenser microphones, dynamic microphones, instrument microphones, handheld and wireless systems as well as USB microphones, plus open and closed headphones, Hi-Fi components such as the Full Score one integrated amplifier, and software plug-ins. The centerpiece is the in-house developed CKR12 microphone capsule with a ceramic construction, which avoids the moisture and drift problems of classic capsules. The microphones are manufactured by hand at the Vienna site ("Handcrafted in Vienna"). The products are aimed at studio recording, live/stage engineering, broadcasting, podcasting and content creation. Austrian Audio was founded by 22 former AKG employees after the closure of the AKG sites in Austria and was acquired by DPA Microphones in 2025, but remains present in Austria.
