About AMIDS
The Austrian Manufacturing Innovation Data Space (AMIDS) is a collaborative research initiative promoting innovation and competitiveness in the manufacturing sector through data-driven solutions. Since 2023, AMIDS has been an essential part of the ecosystem surrounding EuProGigant. At its core is a dedicated European data space based on Gaia-X, through which the pilot factories of TU Wien, TU Graz (smartfactory@tugraz) and JKU Linz (LIT Factory) are digitally interconnected. In the research projects PilotLin-X and ResearchLin-X, the demonstration of co-design and co-production of production parts is enabled, including plastic injection molding with re- and upcycling, metal additive manufacturing, and agile, data-secure manufacturing and assembly. AMIDS offers industry low-barrier access to the Gaia-X test environment, a data and services catalog, webinars and trainings, as well as topics such as the Digital Product Passport and sustainable product lifecycle management. The media owner is the TU Wien Pilot Factory Industry 4.0; the head office is located in Vienna.
