About Austro Engine

Austro Engine GmbH is an Austrian aircraft engine manufacturer based in Wiener Neustadt and part of the Diamond Aircraft Group. Founded in 2007 and employing over 120 staff (as of June 2025), the company develops and manufactures kerosene-powered four-stroke diesel engines of the E4 series (AE300, AE330) as well as rotary engines of the R series (AE50R, AE110R) for general aviation, UAV and APU applications. The engines are used, among others, in the Diamond aircraft DA40 NG, DA42-VI and DA62, as well as in gliders from Schleicher and the Schiebel Camcopter S-100. In addition to engine manufacturing, the portfolio includes technical publications, training services and a global service network. Since 2023, the company has been working on development programmes for sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and a bivalent hydrogen engine. Over 4,500 E4 engines and over 1,600 R-series engines are in service. Since 2017, Austro Engine has been part of the Wanfeng Aviation Group.
