About Automation of Things Europe
Automation of Things Europe GmbH was a software and engineering company founded in 2015 in Albstadt (Baden-Württemberg), active in process automation and IoT integration. The company specialized in custom automation solutions for small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises with low production volumes and high variance. Using a standardized approach — assessment of the current situation, goal definition based on key figures, solution proposal, and cyclical implementation with practical feedback — flexible, cost-effective embedded solutions were implemented. In addition to automation implementation, the company offered software development for IIoT products, project management, consulting and workshop services on IIoT product strategy, support in defining business models and identifying Industry 4.0 pilot projects, as well as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) for Industry 4.0. With its proprietary programming platform FourZero®, the company combined real-time programming, fieldbus and Ethernet networking, cloud connectivity and service-oriented architecture (SoA) at the OT level. In 2018, the company presented its software at the leading trade fair SPS IPC Drives; it also concluded a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korean partner Wizcore for market development in Europe and Asia. Business operations have been discontinued; the company is in liquidation, and no successor arrangement could be found.
