About avemoy
avemoy FlexCo is a technology company founded in 2024 as a spin-off of the University of Klagenfurt, based in Carinthia, specializing in autonomously flying drones and fully autonomous AI software. The product Hortiscan combines specially developed drones without GPS navigation (based on a navigation algorithm building on the work on the Ingenuity Mars helicopter) with edge data processing and a European cloud. The drones scan tomato plants in greenhouses using 4k depth-field video; the evaluation delivers harvest forecasts with up to 99.5% measured accuracy, pruning checks, quality class scanning, rust mite detection and microclimate data. An edge-charger unit covers one hectare of greenhouse each and processes around 34 GB of raw data per flight locally; only final reports are transferred to the cloud. Customers include Frutura (DOL Group), Tomatoworld and operators in France and Canada. The team comprises 11 employees from six nations at the Lakeside site in Klagenfurt.
