About Aventinus-Gymnasium

Aventinus-Gymnasium Burghausen (AVG) is a grammar school with a science and technology branch and a business studies branch as well as a languages profile. Subjects taught include English, French, Spanish and Latin. The school offers an open all-day school, a sports class with instructor training, an introductory class, school counselling and university and career orientation. The school building comprises five floors and can be explored virtually via an interactive 3D tour. In career orientation, AVG cooperates with regional companies. For around 25 years there has been a school partnership and exchange with Gimnazija Ptuj in Slovenia, embedded in the town twinning of Burghausen/Ptuj. The school is named after the historian Johannes Aventinus, who is regarded as the "father of Bavarian historiography".
