About Wahdat Teppiche
AWT Trading GmbH trades as Wahdat Teppiche and operates a carpet house in the UNESCO-protected Speicherstadt in Hamburg. Founded in the early 1980s by the brothers Ahmad and Tamim Wahdat out of a small carpet exhibition, the company has stood for hand-knotted oriental carpets from Persia, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkey for over 40 years. Across 2500 m² of warehouse space on two floors, more than 10,000 carpets are permanently available, ranging from classic Persian carpets and silk carpets to modern Ziegler, Gabbeh and kilim rugs. The range is aimed at private customers, collectors, designers and the trade; worldwide shipping is handled via the Hamburg location and the Rugway online shop. In addition to retail and wholesale, the house offers custom-made rugs, professional carpet cleaning (standard cleaning, eco wash with re-oiling, silk cleaning) and restoration by experienced carpet restorers.
