About AXUM Bohemia

AXUM Bohemia s.r.o. was founded in 2000 in Teplice, a traditional Czech glassmaking city, and there draws on the long-standing experience of glass manufacturing, in particular luminaire glass, for the production of fusing glass. In the manufacturing process, two or more layers of glass are fused together at 800 °C; a subsequent, long-lasting controlled cooling gives the glass high durability. The company manufactures custom-made ("tailor-made") products, individual one-off pieces and complete product lines with design consulting. The portfolio includes glass panels, bowls and displays for hotels and restaurants (HORECA), architectural glass for interior and exterior use, kitchen backsplashes, and the AXLIGHT LED luminaire line made of glass and plywood. Colors are hand-strewed (20 base colors with RAL selection) or sprayed in metallic finishes; curved panels are possible up to 350 mm segment height. The maximum panel size is 2900 x 1500 mm at thicknesses of 5 to 12 mm, in special cases up to 19 mm.

Materials & Processes

Fusing

Glass fusing

Fusing of two or more glass layers at 800 °C for particularly durable panels with a structured underside.

EN 1863

Soda-lime silicate glass, heat strengthened (DIN EN 1863)

Standard production with long-lasting, precise cooling for high durability.

EN 12150-1

Thermally toughened glass (DIN EN 12150-1)

Optional tempering for increased safety in applications with safety requirements.

Biegen

Glass bending

Bending of panels up to 350 mm segment height, e.g. for rounded corners.

Farbe

Hand-applied colors

20 base colors with RAL selection, water-resistant and UV-resistant, combinable in layers and density.

3D-Farbe

Metallic spray colors

Six metallic color tones, sprayed onto the underside of the panel, for a 3D effect.

Muster

Patterned glass underside

Almost any natural or geometric patterns on the underside of the panel.

LED-Montage

LED luminaire manufacturing

Design and manufacture of interior LED luminaires made of glass and plywood (AXLIGHT).
