B&K - Elektronik GmbH is an EMS provider (Electronic Manufacturing Services) based in Mannheim in the Rhine-Neckar region. The company assembles printed circuit boards using SMD and THT technology — from prototypes to small series to volume production — and manufactures electronic assemblies, modules and devices to J-Std 001 or IPC-A-610 (Class 1–3). In addition, B&K Elektronik offers cable assembly: individual cables, wiring harnesses and special cables are manufactured using soldering, pressing or crimping techniques in accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-620. Material procurement is handled either by consignment or by the company itself, depending on the customer's preference; turnkey orders from development through to the finished PCB are also accepted. The SMD component spectrum includes chips from 0201, MELF from 0102, SO, SOT and PLCC packages, QFP up to 55 x 55 mm with 0.4 mm pitch, connectors and BGAs. Quality
All manufactured printed circuit boards and assemblies undergo optical quality control by microscope and AOI; in addition, functional tests, leakage current and insulation resistance measurements, high-voltage tests as well as wiring and pull-out tests are carried out. Manufacturing is performed in accordance with J-Std 001 or IPC-A-610 (Cat. 1–3) and IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Cat. 1–3); employees are regularly trained and recertified via a soldering passport every two years.
