About B+S Werkzeug- und Formenbau

B+S Werkzeug- und Formenbau GmbH in Pulsnitz (Saxony) specialises in the conception, design and manufacture of mould tools for plastics processing. Founded in 1991, the company produces injection moulds for thermoplastics and thermosets, multi-component, stack and tandem moulds, as well as compression and injection-compression moulds for SMC/BMC and tools for rubber and silicone processing. The entire value chain – from CAD/CAM design through CNC milling, die sinking and wire EDM, deep-hole drilling and grinding to finishing – takes place in-house on 1,100 m² of production space; moulds up to 796 x 996 mm and 3 t total weight are possible. In its own plastics technical centre, moulds are sampled on three Engel injection moulding machines (45–200 t); in addition, initial samples, zero and small series as well as contract manufacturing parts are produced. Customers come from the automotive, construction and electrical industries, furniture industry, technical components, consumer products and scientific instrument manufacturing – more than 50 customers are supplied throughout Europe.

Quality and Metrology

In the climate-controlled QA lab, components are inspected in parallel with production using an optical 3D scanner (up to Ø 500 mm / 200 mm high), tactile and optical coordinate measuring machines and a profile projector against drawings and 3D models. 3D contours are already counter-measured on the milling machine using the touch probe; initial sample inspection reports are prepared upon request.
