About the Konradsblatt

Badenia - Medienhaus der Erzdiözese Freiburg - GmbH was founded in 2024 as the successor to Badenia Verlag, in which the Konradsblatt has been published since 1917 – the weekly newspaper for the Archdiocese of Freiburg. For over 100 years, the Konradsblatt has reported on faith, religion and the church, and currently appears as a subscription newspaper with a circulation of around 40,000 copies (sold circulation Q2 2024: 25,479 according to Wikipedia). The publisher is the Archbishop of Freiburg; the editorial team works with journalistic independence. Financing comes from subscriptions, advertising sales and the insert business. In addition to the print edition, the portfolio includes the e-paper (since 2016), the online portal konradsblatt.de (since 1999) as well as products such as the Konrad calendar, Advent calendar and “Reiseziel Heimat”. The editorial office and publishing address are located in Karlsruhe.
