About Rothaus
The Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus AG was founded in 1791 by the Benedictine monastery of St. Blasien and has belonged to the state of Baden-Württemberg since 1806. The brewery is located at 1,000 metres altitude in the High Black Forest and brews its beers with soft water from seven own springs as well as regional malt and aroma hops. The product range includes, among others, the Tannenzäpfle, brewed since 1956, in the 0.33-l bottle, Pilsner, Märzen, Hefeweizen, naturally cloudy beers, Bock beers, Radler variants and non-alcoholic beers. The brewhouse, inaugurated in 2006, with stainless steel brew kettles, fermentation and storage tanks enables production using conventional methods with cold fermentation and long cold storage. In addition to beer production, Rothaus operates its own single malt whisky production as well as the Rothaus GenussWelt with a brewery inn, hotel, museum and events. Distribution is nationwide across Germany.
