About BaeckTrade
BaeckTrade GmbH was founded in 2006 by Dr. Jan Bäckermann in the Lüneburg Heath region and specializes in the processing and marketing of residues from the chemical industry, oleochemistry and food production. What began as a trading company expanded in 2013 with the takeover of the biodiesel plant in Bokel (Sprakensehl), which has been owned by the company since 2019 and is operated as BaeckTrade GmbH NL Bokel. There, waste and residual materials are processed into secondary raw materials using chemical-physical processes such as distillation, washing, neutralization, separation, filtration and mixing; in addition, sustainable fuels for road transport and shipping are produced. All incoming and outgoing materials undergo quality control in the in-house laboratory. With the subsidiaries BaeckTrade Fuels GmbH (2014) and BaeckTrade Biokraftstoff GmbH (2020), the portfolio also includes biofuels, alternative energy sources as well as fertilizers and feedstuffs. More than 25 employees work at the Hetendorf (office/headquarters) and Bokel (production) locations.
