About BAK Technology AG

BAK Technology AG is a Swiss manufacturer of plastic welding machines, hand welding extruders, air heaters and hot air blowers headquartered in Kerns, Obwalden. The company develops and produces machines for welding thermoplastics on construction sites as well as in production, including wedge welding machines, hot air welding machines, hand-held devices, semi-automatic welding machines, industrial extruders and tensile testing and inspection devices. The machines are used to process thermoplastic materials such as PE-LD, PE-HD, PP, TPO, PVC, ECB and EVA, for example geomembranes in civil engineering, tunnel and pond construction, roofing membranes, tarpaulins and floor coverings. Air heaters serve for integration into production processes, for instance for activating adhesives, shrinking and drying in the packaging industry. Distribution takes place worldwide via distribution partners in over 50 countries; the product range includes accessories, filaments and the myBAK app with GPS location tracking of the machines. Since 2024, BAK Technology AG has belonged to the ROTHENBERGER Group; production and development facilities are located in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
