About BalTec
BalTec Maschinenbau AG, headquartered in Pfäffikon (Zurich), specialises in the development and manufacture of machines for cold forming and joining technology. The portfolio includes riveting machines, riveting heads, CNC riveting machines, work cells and process monitoring systems, particularly for radial riveting, orbital riveting, roller forming and pressing. All machines are manufactured entirely in Switzerland; the product range extends from pneumatic and hydraulic units to the fully servo-driven ELECTRIC generation with force ranges from 0.3 to 50 kN. BalTec supports customers through its Technology Centre with feasibility studies, the development of custom forming tools and profiles, small-series production as well as service, repair and training. The company's history goes back to the family business Bräcker, founded in 1835, which launched the radial riveting machine on the market in 1968. The company employs around 60 staff and is represented on all continents with eight of its own subsidiaries and 40 sales partners.

Materials and Processes
Steel
Reference material for the riveting capacity of the ELECTRIC units; rivet diameters up to 20 mm depending on model.
Radial Riveting
Gentle forming process for all materials including sensitive surfaces as well as Bakelite and ceramic parts.
Orbital Riveting
Alternative for soft materials, semi-tubular rivets as well as tubes and sleeve-shaped workpieces.
Roller Forming
Careful forming of thin wall thicknesses and large diameters with minimised downward force.
Pressing
Vertical movement with high force via a static forming die, typically a faster process.
Servo Riveting Technology (ELECTRIC)
Path increment 0.01 mm and system resolution 0.0005 mm; interchangeable process heads for radial, tangential, orbital and roller forming.
