About Gewürze der Welt
Gewürze der Welt is the trading brand of Baobab Gewürzhandelsgesellschaft mbH based in Weßling (Starnberg district, Bavaria). The business model began in 2007 with the import of the first spices from Madagascar; in 2011 Andrea Rolshausen founded the company. The range covers spices from A to Z, in-house developed spice blends, curries, salts as well as supplementary delicatessen items, partly in organic quality (control body DE-Öko-006) and fairly traded. The company roasts, grinds, blends and fills itself according to its own recipes in Bavaria; no ready-made blends are sourced from Southeast Asia. Distribution is via the company's own online shop as well as five retail stores in Munich, Seefeld/Hechendorf, Nuremberg, Salzburg and Münster. In addition to private customers, retailers (B2B) are also supplied; customers receive advice, recipes, refill packs, special sizes and gift packaging.
