About basi
basi Schöberl GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Rastatt, is a medium-sized family business in the industrial gases sector founded in 1923. The name stands for "Badische Acetylen und Sauerstoff Industrie" (Baden Acetylene and Oxygen Industry). The company produces nitrogen, oxygen, argon, carbon dioxide and acetylene, among others, at its own sites, and also manufactures special gases, medical and pharmaceutical gases, food gases, dry ice and products for swimming pool hygiene. In addition to gas production, the portfolio includes plant engineering for gas supply systems: supply concepts, planning, engineering services, pipeline construction, welding and brazing work (TIG, MIG/MAG, orbital), installation, commissioning as well as maintenance and inspection of gas systems. With around 140 employees and more than 20,000 customers, basi relies on a high level of in-house capability, its own vehicle fleet and supply from its own production facilities, including air separation plants in Kehl, Speyer and Strasbourg.
