About Bassmann Optik
Bassmann Optik is an optical retail specialist with two stores in Karlsruhe city centre. In its own workshop, spectacle lenses are measured, centered and ground with modern CNC technology, then assembled, adjusted and subjected to final inspection. Measurement is performed using the Impressionist Avantgarde computer measuring and centering system from Rodenstock, the VisioOffice from Essilor and the DNEye Scanner from Rodenstock. The range includes prescription glasses and sunglasses from renowned designer and brand frames as well as contact lenses (daily, two-week, monthly, yearly, rigid gas-permeable and coloured lenses) including fitting and online ordering. The six-person team consists of master opticians, a graduate engineer in optics, qualified opticians and an office assistant. Since 2004, master optician Birgit Deck has run the company and continues the roughly one-hundred-year tradition of Bassmann Optik. The main location is Kaiserstraße 141, complemented by the branch at Waldstraße 42a.
