About Bauer und Häselbarth - Chirurg GmbH

Bauer und Häselbarth - Chirurg GmbH was founded in 1879 as a repair workshop for the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf and today produces surgical instruments for various specialist disciplines such as proctology, gynecology and ENT. With around 50 employees at two sites in Germany, the company manufactures surgical instruments as an OEM partner from blank to finished product. Production encompasses machining, sheet metal processing, final cleaning and labeling; almost all work steps are carried out in-house. The company is not a trading business – all instruments sold come from its own production. In doing so, BHC combines state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies with the precise manual work of qualified surgical instrument makers. The portfolio includes, among other things, self-retaining retractors, tracheostomy tubes, gynecological instruments as well as atomizers and powder blowers. The company is certified according to ISO 13485:2016 and registered under FDA 21 CFR 820.
