About Bauerschmidt Films
Bauerschmidt Kunststoff GmbH together with Horst Bauerschmidt KG is a Thuringian film manufacturer in its third family generation, headquartered in Floh-Seligenthal. The family business, founded in 1949 with around 50 employees, produces PE films from LDPE, MDPE and HDPE using tubular and flat film processes with widths from 100 to 2,600 mm and thicknesses from 6.5 to 250 µm. Using coextrusion (3-layer technology), thickness-reduced special films such as the proprietary brand Birbalin are produced. The product range also includes biodegradable biofilms according to DIN EN 13432 as well as recycled-content films with up to 100 % recycled material from in-house regranulation (PIR/PCR). Flexographic printing with up to six colors, converting with perforation, punching and welding, as well as the production of pouches, bags and Y-shrink hoods complete the value chain. Customers include the food and pharmaceutical industries, the wood and construction industries, the apparel industry, online mail-order retail and general industry.
