About BLÄK
The Bayerische Landesärztekammer (BLÄK) is the professional legal representation of physicians in Bavaria and a public law corporation based in the Bayerisches Ärztehaus in Munich. It represents around 100.523 registered physicians (as of 31.08.2026) and upholds the interests of the medical profession as well as the quality and safety of medical care. Its core tasks include registration and membership, registration and quality assurance of medical further training, CME continuing education, quality assurance in hemotherapy and reproductive medicine, the Ärztliche Stelle, an expert panel for treatment allegations, as well as professional supervisory and ethical tasks. With the Walner-Schulen, BLÄK operates its own training center for medical professions in Munich, which has existed since 1957. The annually convened Bavarian Physicians' Day serves as the central forum; BLÄK also publishes the Bayerisches Ärzteblatt.
