About Löwenbrauerei Passau
The Bayerische Löwenbrauerei Franz Stockbauer AG Passau is a brewery founded in 1874 by Franz Stockbauer, based in the heart of the three-river city of Passau. The company produces a broad range of beers – from pale lager to Pilsner, wheat beers and bock beers through to alcohol-free varieties – as well as Radler, lemonades and table water. Its value chain includes its own malting plant (since 1951) and brewing based on select Bavarian raw materials such as barley, wheat, hops and water. A major line of business is contract brewing: since 2015, all bottled wheat beers of Weißbräu Andorfer have been produced according to their recipes and brewing processes. With the acquisitions of the Schlossbrauerei Haselbach (2001) and the Späth-Bräu in Lohberg (2013, Osser-Bier brand), the brewery expanded its portfolio. In the 2020 financial year, beer output was 99.340 hl and total beverage output 116.117 hl. The brewery is 97 % owned by the Franz and Maria Stockbauer Foundation, established in 1911.
