BC-TECH AG is a Swiss high-tech company headquartered in Domat/Ems in the canton of Graubünden. The company produces custom glass-to-metal seals (GMD), which consist of a metallic shell, a glass insulator and one or more inner conductors and form hermetically sealed connections. The portfolio is complemented by mechanical services such as CNC turned and milled parts as well as EDM, an in-house electroplating department for surface finishing to increase corrosion protection or conductivity, laser marking, as well as cable assembly, soldering and the processing of potting compounds. The glass-to-metal seals are manufactured in small and medium series, with all production steps including electroplating and quality inspection carried out in Switzerland. Every product undergoes an oil pressure test, a helium leak test, a microscopic inspection and an insulation resistance measurement; in mechanics, the four-eyes principle applies to first-article inspection and regulated measuring cycles are performed on coordinate measuring machines (Zeiss Contura G2, Zeiss O-Inspect, Mitutoyo Quick Scope, Optacom VC 10). Results are documented with quality certificates, material certificates and coating thickness reports.
