About us
Beck u. Kaltheuner Feuerfeste Erzeugnisse GmbH & Co. KG develops and manufactures refractory products and purging systems for applications in blast furnaces, steel mills, furnace and plant construction, coking plants, and the aluminium, cement and foundry industries. The portfolio includes purging plugs with direct porosity (capillary, slit, double-slit and annular-gap purging plugs), segment or plate purging plugs with pressed and fired ceramic plates, purely porous purging plugs, and combination systems with a porous core and dense cladding. In addition, the company offers wear early-detection systems with indicators, steel pins and SiC pins, as well as breakthrough protection systems with spiral-shaped gas connections made of copper or steel. Alongside production, the company has a technology and engineering department, its own product development site, an assembly department and an extensive machine park. The company operates at two sites: Plettenberg (headquarters) and Duisburg (branch office). Since 2024, the Kaltheuner family has been the sole owner of the company.
