About Befra-Energietechnik

Befra-Energietechnik GmbH, headquartered in Leutkirch im Allgäu, was active for around 25 years in the development, planning, distribution and rental of transformer stations. As of 1 January 2026, the Zeppelin Group took over the business operations via an asset deal; since then the services have been offered under Zeppelin Rental. The portfolio includes mobile transformer stations, non-walk-in compact transformer stations up to 2500 kVA as well as transformers — new or used, for rent or purchase. In addition to demand assessment and the upgrade of old transformer stations, the company offers shortened delivery times through modular construction. The mobile and stationary transformer stations are used on construction sites as well as primarily for biogas, photovoltaic and wind power plants and by energy supply companies. With the takeover, around 70 mobile rental transformers were transferred to the Zeppelin fleet; Zeppelin Rental is thus also entering the manufacturing and trading of these products.
