Beran Instruments Ltd and Helitune Ltd are part of the Condition Monitoring Technology Group (CMTG) headquartered in Torrington, Devon (UK). Since 1980, Helitune has specialised in Rotor Track and Balance systems (Rotortuner RT-6) as well as vibration and health monitoring systems (HUMS) for helicopters, turboprop aircraft and engines; more than 1,000 Rotortuner systems are in service worldwide. Beran, founded in 1984, develops and manufactures online vibration monitoring and machinery protection systems (PlantProtech™) for the power generation industry, in particular for steam, gas and water turbines, including API670-compliant protection functions. The portfolio also includes transducer calibration systems (TransCal) to ISO 16063-21, as well as calibration, repair and training services at locations in the UK, USA, France and Germany. Customer industries include aerospace, power generation (including nuclear), defence, automotive and manufacturing; customers include EDF, NASA and SSE Thermal, among others.

Helitune founded as a specialist in helicopter vibration monitoring.

Beran founded in Devon with a focus on signal processing and custom instrumentation.

Beran finalist in the Prince of Wales Award for Innovation and Production with a railway sleeper integrity tester for British Railways.
- 1991
Beran relocated to a purpose-built facility in Torrington, North Devon.
