Berger Apparatebau AG, headquartered in Steffisburg in the Bernese Oberland, has been developing and manufacturing custom plants, apparatuses, vessels and metal components for industry, trade, construction and the public sector since 1957. The portfolio includes consulting and design, laser cutting, bending up to 20 mm sheet thickness, rolling and 3D bending (e.g. stair stringers), machining, welding, post-treatment as well as prototype construction, one-off productions, small series and complete assemblies according to customer drawings. Materials processed include steel, stainless steel/chromium-nickel steel, aluminium, duplex steel, wear-resistant steel, titanium, high-nickel alloys and non-ferrous metals. A special field is EMP protection with Faraday cages and the in-house developed EMP protection door AB987/BA15. With 30 employees, the company manufactures in Steffisburg and delivers and installs on site throughout Switzerland – from idea to finished product from a single source.

Quality and Certifications
Production is certified under the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (including restamping authorisation), EN 1090-2 EXC3 and EN ISO 3834-2:2005; certified welders according to EN ISO 9606-1 and procedure tests according to DIN EN ISO 15614-1 / SVTI 506 / AD 2000-Merkblatt HP5/2 are in place. Every sheet, pipe and bar is inspected upon goods receipt and marked with an identification number – material traceability is thereby guaranteed; inspection is carried out by dye penetrant testing PT2 and visual inspection VT 1/2 according to SN EN ISO 9712.
