About Bergkäserei Liechti

Bergkäserei Liechti stands for the traditional cheese production of the Ricken alpine dairy, which dates back at least to 1875 and is first documented on the Rickenpass in the village of Ricken SG. The company processes milk from the surrounding bog region, which lies 800 metres above sea level, into bog cheese. The special flora and herbs of the bog lead to a distinctive milk fat composition and shape the tangy taste of the cheese. The range includes semi-hard and hard cheeses from mild to piquant. In addition to the production and sale of regional specialities, the company trains apprentices and works with Swiss Liebefeld cultures based on 100 years of research by the former Federal Institute for Dairy Research. For the Hochmoor Chäs würzig.delikat, the company received a gold medal at the Concours Suisse for regional products.
