About Berkefeld Joinery
Berkefeld GmbH is a traditional joinery/carpentry business from Salzgitter-Beinum that has existed since 1873. The company manufactures custom-made windows and wooden front doors in its own workshop, including special shapes such as round arches, double-leaf doors and elements with side panels and fanlights. In addition to interior doors as well as security and fire doors as prefabricated elements, the range of services includes repair of windows, doors and roller shutters including a 24/7 emergency service, as well as custom interior fittings for houses, apartments, offices, medical practices and commercial properties. Production is carried out in wood and plastic; since 1963 the company has been producing plastic windows, having acquired one of the first licenses from PETAL Hamburg. Another focus is the monument-appropriate manufacture of doors and windows for villas, manor farms and churches. The catchment area covers Salzgitter as well as the Braunschweig, Hildesheim, Wolfenbüttel and Goslar region; consultation, planning, surveying, manufacturing, delivery and installation are all provided from a single source.

Founded as a coachbuilding/wheelwright business by Fritz Berkefeld.
- 1919
Business handed over to son Albert Berkefeld; expansion to include saw work through Alfred Berkefeld.

Acquisition of a horizontal saw gate and further woodworking machines for joinery work.

Alfred Berkefeld takes over the business as a master wheelwright; 1962 master craftsman in the joinery trade.
