About the Berliner-Kindl-Schultheiss-Brauerei
The Berliner-Kindl-Schultheiss-Brauerei GmbH is a large brewery located in Berlin-Hohenschönhausen. There, beers of the brands Berliner Pilsner, Berliner Kindl, Schultheiss and Berliner Bürgerbräu are produced; annual production is around 1.5 million hectoliters. The site also produces the vodka brand Wodka Gorbatschow, which belongs to the Oetker Group. The company's history dates back to 1842, when August Heinrich Prell founded a brewery on Neue Jakobstraße in Alt-Berlin. After reunification, former Schultheiss and Kindl operations were merged into the Berliner-Kindl-Schultheiss-Brauerei GmbH. Since 2004, the company has been part of the Radeberger Group within the Oetker Group. The listed heritage site includes, among other things, a malting plant built in 1929 with a 33-meter-high silo tower and a brewhouse commissioned in 1895.
