About Bernafon
Bernafon develops and distributes hearing aids, accessories and fitting software for people with hearing loss. The brand originated in 1946 in Bern (Switzerland) from a telephone company that expanded its business into sound amplifiers; the name derives from the location Bern. Bernafon was acquired by the Demant Group in 1994; in 2022 most of the company relocated from its Swiss seat to the Demant headquarters near Copenhagen (Denmark). For the German market, Bernafon Hörgeräte GmbH in Berlin (HRB 56543) serves as the sales and service branch for the Bernafon, Philips Hearing Solutions and Sonic brands. The in-the-ear production of the Berlin manufactory was handed over to Demant Operations in Szczecin around the turn of the year 2023/2024; since then the Berlin site has focused on consulting, order intake and service for hearing care professionals. The current range of hearing aids comprises the Revita (2026) and Encanta (2024) families with AI-driven noise reduction as well as Alpha XT with Hybrid Technology.
