Bernd Schwegmann GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1951 in Bonn and is today run in its third generation by Sebastian Schwegmann. The company develops and produces chemical specialties: coating additives for optimizing paints and coating systems, printing chemicals for the graphic arts industry, and industrial cleaners on aqueous and solvent bases. The portfolio is complemented by test charts (contrast or drawdown charts) for testing coating properties such as opacity, brushability or coverage. Through Schwegmann Filtrations-Technik GmbH, custom sieve and filter bags for liquid and air filtration are offered, among others for pharmaceuticals, paints, adhesives, cosmetics and paper. The company is headquartered in Grafschaft-Gelsdorf, about 20 km southwest of Bonn. Its main sales markets are Germany, Europe, South America and Asia.
