Bernhard Ide Werkzeug- und Maschinenbau für die Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1957 by Bernhard Ide and operates under its brand IRT – IDE Recycling Technologies as an owner-managed family business in its third generation in Ostfildern near Stuttgart. The company manufactures tools, machines and complete systems for plastics extrusion and plastics recycling. The focus is on modular recycling extruders (RE 75/11 to RE 200/20) with cutting compactors, melt filters, laser screens and water-ring pelletizers, covering line outputs of 100 to 2,300 kg/h and screw diameters of 75 to 200 mm. The range of services includes engineering, manufacturing, on-site commissioning, training of operating personnel, maintenance and repair as well as spare parts supply far beyond the statutory 10-year period. Customers are plastics processing companies and the recycling industry worldwide. In 2024, a global strategic cooperation agreement with Grace Machinery was concluded and the co-brand GIRT was introduced.
