About the SORG Group

The SORG Group is a family of companies based in Lohr am Main that offers plants and services for the glass industry. The portfolio covers the entire melting and conditioning process: from the delivery of raw materials via batch and cullet treatment plants as well as batch charging technology (EME), through the design and installation of glass melting furnaces including heating systems and thermal process technology (Nikolaus SORG), to turnkey furnace construction, hot repairs, maintenance and furnace audits (SKS). Steel and refractory components are manufactured and processed; the work includes the replacement of refractory material and steel, drilling work in refractory material and ceramic welding. Customers are glass plants from the container, flat and specialty glass industry in over 80 countries. The group combines more than 150 years of company history, more than 100 patents and more than 300 furnaces in operation worldwide; with over 700 employees and revenue of more than 160 million euros, it counts among the established suppliers to the industry.
