About BK BetonDESIGN
BK BetonDESIGN is the design brand of BetonSTEINwerK Kornfeld-Trimmel GmbH, a family business based in Forchtenstein in Burgenland, founded in 1960 and now run by the third generation. The company manufactures tailored concrete elements and custom fabrications for outdoor and indoor applications, including concrete furniture, seating elements, steps, cantilevered stairs, walkway slabs, design elements and art objects. Production takes place in the company's own BK Manufactory through machine-based manufacturing combined with handcrafted precision. Production uses normal concrete (approx. 2,200 kg/m³ density) as well as lightweight concrete with a density below 1,000 kg/m³ based on expanded clay or expanded glass. Colored concrete is colored throughout with powdered pigments; the surface range includes as-cast (fair-faced), finely sand-blasted and bush-hammered finishes as well as numerous textures. In addition, the company offers industrial 3D concrete printing for complex geometries and structural concrete with photoengraving. Raw materials are sourced exclusively from Austrian producers in the region; concrete rubble is 100 % recycled. Customers come from architecture, interior design, art and landscaping.

Concrete types and surfaces
Normal concrete
Standard concrete with approx. 2,200 kg/m³ density for structural and design elements.
Lightweight concrete
Concrete made with expanded clay or expanded glass, with a density below 1,000 kg/m³, well insulating and lightweight.
Colored concrete
Concrete colored throughout with powdered pigments, based on gray or white cement.
3D concrete printing
Industrial 3D concrete printing for organic curves and complex geometries in small quantities.
Sand-blasted
High-pressure surface treatment that removes the cement slurry and brings out the stone in a matte finish.
Bush-hammered
Treatment with the bush hammer creates a rough, antique-looking concrete surface.
Fair-faced (as-cast)
Precisely built formwork creates a smooth, true-to-detail concrete surface.
