About BEWI

BEWI is an internationally active manufacturer of packaging, technical components and insulation solutions based on plastics and paper. The product portfolio includes EPS moulded parts, EPS Grey, BioFoam®, EPP moulded parts for automotive and technical packaging, fabricated foam made from EPE and PUR, XPS boards as well as honeycomb packaging made from paper, kraftliner and testliner. The company covers the value chain from design and prototyping through production and logistics to the recycling of EPS/EPP and offers recycled raw materials such as rcBeads and rGPPS. Customers come from industries such as construction/insulation, packaging, food and seafood, automotive, medical, e-commerce, agriculture, defence and infrastructure. Founded in 1980 on the island of Frøya in Norway, BEWI today operates as a listed ASA (Oslo Børs) headquartered in Trondheim with production and sales locations across Europe. The products protect and insulate everything from fish and vegetables to fragile goods and are used in walls, roofs, floors as well as under roads and in bridges.

Materials & Processes

EPS

EPS (expanded polystyrene)

98% air; excellent thermal insulation and compressive strength for food and protective packaging.

EPS Grey

EPS Grey (with graphite)

approx. 20% better insulation performance than white EPS, enabling thinner insulation boards.

BioFoam

BioFoam® (biopolymers)

made from organic raw materials, insulating, shock-absorbing, biodegradable and industrially compostable.

EPP

EPP (expanded polypropylene)

closed-cell foam with high energy absorption for automotive and technical packaging.

EPE

EPE (fabricated foam)

the most common material for cushioning, separation and securing of medium to heavy industrial products.

PUR

PUR (open cell)

permeable to air and water, suitable for furniture, mattresses and cushioning packaging.

XPS

XPS (extruded polystyrene)

closed-cell boards with high compressive strength and moisture resistance for construction and insulation.

HC

Honeycomb (paper/kraftliner/testliner)

lighter and more stable than cardboard, 100% recyclable and compostable for shock and edge protection.

GPPS

GPPS

polystyrene granulate as a starting material, among other things for bead products.

rcBeads

rcBeads (recycled EPS beads)

beads obtained from recycled EPS as a raw material for new products in a closed loop.

rGPPS

rGPPS (recycled GPPS)

recycled polystyrene as a raw material for circular products.

EcoFill

EcoFill

recycled filling material as an alternative to shredded cardboard for protective packaging.
