About BG Wind
BG Wind GmbH operates a concrete precast plant in Kavelstorf near Rostock with approximately 42,000 m² of production space and 205,000 m² of storage space. Around 250 workers from 19 nations are employed at the plant. The current production focus is on concrete elements for hybrid wind towers from Nordex Acciona, in particular keystones, which are a crucial component of the hybrid tower technology. Approximately 1.5 wind tower sets are produced per week; a tower set comprises around 1,500 t of concrete C80/95 and 89 t of steel B500B. In addition to formwork, reinforcement and concrete processing work, the company also manufactures other precast concrete parts to customer requirements. The Kavelstorf site offers good logistics conditions for large-format components thanks to its direct connection to the A19/A20 and the Rostock Overseas Port.
