About BHBVT

BHBVT Gesellschaft von Architekten mbH is an architecture firm based in Berlin that, since its founding in 1962 in Cologne by Peter Busmann, has focused primarily on the execution of public building projects, whose commissions are largely based on competition successes. In 1998, on the occasion of the project work for the buildings of the German Bundestag, the independent Berlin office Busmann + Haberer was founded; since 2010, following the entry of new partners, the firm has operated as BHBVT Gesellschaft von Architekten mbH. Its services include architectural services for public building projects, competition designs, exhibition design and sustainable building concepts. The spectrum of services ranges from concept design through project processing to realisation. Clients include, among others, the German Bundestag, the University Medical Center Augsburg, the University of Rostock, Fraunhofer Institutes, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and the Julius Kühn Institute. Well-known projects include the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, the Jakob-Kaiser-Haus of the Bundestag, the library of Humboldt University Berlin and the teaching building of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Augsburg, which was occupied in October 2024. Sustainability is already embedded in the concept development stage; every project is optimised with regard to energy and resource conservation.
