Biesterfeld SE is the intermediate holding company of the Biesterfeld Group, a chemical and plastics distribution company headquartered in Hamburg. Under the umbrella of the holding are the three core business units Biesterfeld Plastic, Biesterfeld Spezialchemie and Biesterfeld Performance Rubber as well as the service companies BIT-SERV GmbH (IT services) and Biesterfeld ChemLogS GmbH (logistics). The group focuses on the distribution of plastics, rubbers and specialty chemicals for industrial customers. The company was founded in 1906 as W. Biesterfeld & Co. and evolved from a salt trading business via chemicals and fertilizers into an internationally operating corporate group. The group is wholly owned by four members of the Biesterfeld family via Biesterfeld Vermögensverwaltungs GmbH & Co. KG. At the end of 2024, the holding was converted into a Societas Europaea.
