Bihl+Wiedemann GmbH is an owner-managed company founded in 1992 by Jochen Bihl and Bernhard Wiedemann and headquartered in Mannheim. The company develops and manufactures complete automation solutions for functional safety and data communication in machines and systems based on the AS-Interface (ASi) fieldbus system. The product portfolio includes masters/gateways, modules/slaves, safety components, bus couplers and proprietary software, complemented by contract development from the concept phase to series production and training via the Bihl+Wiedemann Academy. The company has been active with AS-Interface solutions since 1995; its ASi master was the first certified system of AS-International e.V. in 1995. In 2019, Bihl+Wiedemann played a pioneering role in the market launch of ASi-5 devices. Customers come from packaging technology, warehouse and conveyor technology, process and building automation as well as general mechanical and plant engineering. In addition to its Mannheim headquarters, the company has subsidiaries in the USA, Turkey, Denmark and China as well as branch offices in Spain and Italy; sales are handled through partners in more than 30 countries.

Proven ASi generation for simple, cost-efficient I/O and drive functions such as start/stop and forward/reverse operation.
