About Billoba
Billoba is a Swiss materials science startup developing bio-based elastomer foams. The patent-pending material is a closed-cell rubber foam that, according to the company, matches or exceeds the performance of premium synthetic rubber and neoprene in grip, stretch, durability and haptics, while being free of PFAS and other harmful curing and blowing agents (e.g. TMTD, ADCA). The compound is offered as foam sheets as well as in laminated form and is designed as a drop-in solution for existing industrial injection molding and molding processes. Mechanical properties such as grip, stretch, density and feel are tailored to the application, typically within joint development agreements. Focus markets are sports and consumer goods, in particular yoga and gymnastics mats (Billoba® Y Foam), water sports/wetsuits (Billoba® W Foam), bags, footwear, accessories and camping. The technology is at TRL 6 (functional prototype in a relevant environment), headquartered in Switzerland.

Quality & Standards
Billoba states that it tests its foams according to ASTM standards, including UV resistance (ASTM G154), elasticity (ASTM D412) and grip (ASTM D1894). The material is safe for skin contact, hypoallergenic and free of chemical substances that are being phased out as a result of PFAS bans and REACH reclassifications.
