About Bind-X
Bind-X GmbH (formerly Dust BioSolutions) is an industrial biotechnology company based in Planegg/Martinsried near Munich. The company develops, produces and markets biological binders based on the multiply patented Bind-Tech technology platform, which permanently solidifies loose materials such as soil and sand through bio-cementation. The core product is Terrabind™ in five patented formulations, available as a powder or liquid, for dust suppression and stabilization of Haul Roads, Tailings Storage Facilities and Stockpiles in mining. With Terrabind Ultimate, Bind-X offers a wet-stable product as an alternative to bitumen-based mixtures. Application is carried out with existing equipment such as standard water trucks; treated surfaces cure under typical conditions in about six hours to form a solid surface layer. In addition to mining, products are being developed for agriculture, the construction materials industry and the construction industry. The service portfolio includes laboratory soil analysis, Site Trials, custom binder development, training of operating personnel and technical support. Products are in use in more than 20 countries, including by Eramet/Grande Côte Opérations in Senegal. Production and distribution take place via a facility in South Africa; a logistics hub in Australia complements the headquarters with R&D center in Martinsried.
