About BIOCEN
The BIOCEN Group is a corporate group founded in 2008 with business fields centered on the forest. The business model comprises natural climate protection projects as well as services along the forestry value chain: forest management and operations management, forest maintenance including stand establishment, young growth tending, salvage logging and road safety, forestry consulting, forest planning and forest inventories, as well as the implementation of nature and climate protection measures such as climate forest projects, peatland and wetland restoration, and burial forests. Through the BIOCEN TIMBER business division, the group trades in roundwood, energy wood and firewood from certified sustainable forestry (PEFC, FSC®, SURE) – from self-harvesting through timber harvesting to wood transport, from northern to central Germany. The digital platform Smartforester (BIOCEN TECHNOLOGY) maps the planning, documentation and management of forests. The group consists of the companies BIOCEN AG & Co. KGaA, BIOCEN FOREST, BIOCEN ECOSYSTEMS, BIOCEN TECHNOLOGY and BIOCEN GmbH with locations in Wismar, Döbern and Rappin.

Founded as BIOCEN HOLZ GmbH with 7 shareholders from agriculture and forestry for the development of short-rotation plantations and the supply of power plants.
- 2009
Founding of regional project companies.
- 2010
Establishment of the first SRC plantations, start of power plant supply.

Reorientation as an all-rounder in wood supply and wood provision.
