About Biomat
Biomat was founded in 1992 as an engineering company for specialty plastic products for diagnostic and medical applications. Since 1995, the company has produced its own microplates for immunoassays with modified surfaces, initially Medium- and High-Binding 96-Well Plates for ELISA, LIA and FIA. The portfolio includes 96- and 384-well plates made of pure polystyrene with low fluorescence, PCR products made of polypropylene, as well as reagents and laboratory consumables. The core competence is surface modification using techniques such as plasma, gamma irradiation, chemical modification and bio-coating, e.g. with streptavidin, biotin, poly-L-lysine or protein A/G. Main customers are IVD manufacturers; further fields of application are molecular diagnostics, genomics, high throughput screening and cell culture. The company operates according to ISO 9001:2015 and offers customized solutions through Custom Microplate and New Product Development Services; the site for production and distribution is Italy.
