Company

Biopellet Magdeburg GmbH & Co. KG produces and sells wood pellets, wood chips, animal bedding and firewood at its Magdeburg-Rothensee location for private, commercial and industrial applications. At the site, a pellet plant and a biomass cogeneration plant (BMHKW) are interconnected: the power plant generates power and heat in combined heat and power (CHP) operation; the heat is used, among other things, by the pellet plant and is additionally sold to industrial companies in the industrial park. Sawdust and white wood chips are used in particular for pellet production; in total, the company processes around 120,000 tonnes of wood per year as raw material and fuel. The production capacity of the pellet plant is around 50,000 tonnes of pellets annually, comprising premium pellets according to ENplus A1 (6 mm) as well as non-standardized industrial pellets. The pellets are stored in six steel round silos and loaded via an automated filling system into silo or walking-floor trucks. In addition, the company is a certified waste management specialist and operates a collection point for hardwood cuttings from the ALB quarantine zone as well as an on-site sales outlet.
