About Birr Machines

Birr Machines AG is a Swiss company for the development, manufacture and service of electrical machines. The company develops and manufactures electric motors for special applications with power outputs up to 35 MW and supplies customers worldwide. The portfolio includes standard and special motors, complete overhauls and repairs of AC/DC and traction motors, reverse engineering and reproduction of existing motors, as well as the manufacture of individual components such as rotors, stators, windings and commutators. In the spare parts business, ABB original parts and purchased parts are offered via an internal online platform, some with same-day delivery. Supplementary services include dynamic balancing and vibration analysis, testing and certification according to IEC, NEMA, IEEE and BS standards on an in-house test field, as well as assembly, commissioning and on-site services. As an EcoXpert service partner of Schneider Electric, the company additionally offers commissioning, consulting, dimensioning and spare parts management. The headquarters with production is located in Kleindöttingen, with a service site in Unterentfelden.
