About BKK Henschel Plus
BKK Henschel Plus was a company health insurance fund (provider of statutory health insurance) headquartered in Kassel. It emerged from the factory health insurance fund founded in 1854 by the company Henschel & Sohn and was open to the federal states of Bavaria, Hesse and Lower Saxony. Insured persons were those subject to compulsory insurance as well as their spouses in these federal states. Its range of benefits included, among other things, a bonus programme, a family doctor model, the AktivWoche, the BKK Starke Kids programme, as well as supplementary insurance in cooperation with Barmenia. On 1 January 2020 the fund merged with Continentale BKK; insured members have been looked after by Continentale BKK ever since. Its legal form was a corporation under public law; the supervisory authority was the insurance office of the City of Kassel.
